A SERVICE to commemorate the end of the war with Japan was held in Burghfield at the weekend.
Members of the Burghfield and District Branch of the Royal British Legion commemorated the 75th anniversary of the end of the war with Japan.

A service was held at the War Memorial St Mary's Church, Burghfield, on Saturday, August 15.
There was a short service led by the Chaplain, Rev. Dr. Anthony Peabody and Bruce Neeves, Chairman of the RBL Burghfield and District Branch when a wreath was laid on the War Memorial.
Colin Taylor also played some piped music at the event.

The Victory over Japan Day is the day on which Japan surrendered in the Second World War.
