A SOCIALLY distanced drive in cinema has opened at Newbury Showground.

The Out Out Drive In Cinema is located inside a warehouse which has room for 48 cars inside.

Films such as Grease, Dirty Dancing, Trolls World Tour and the Joker are available for customers to watch.

The company's website states: "Out Out Drive In Cinema experience will utilise state of the art cinema equipment with a high definition indoor LED screens offering full HD picture and a quality sound system, to produce an exceptional cinematic experience."

Customers can also order food and drink such as hot dogs, nachos and ice cream directly to their cars.

Organisers said they are "fully compliant with the government restrictions on social distancing" and customers don't have to leave their car at all during the screening if they don't want to.

They explained all food and drink ordering and delivery will be contactless and staff members interacting with the public will be wearing appropriate PPE.

Toilets will be on site for customers to use and organisers said these are individual units which are spaced a minimum of 2m apart.

There are certain rules in place for those visiting including staying within your social bubble and taking rubbish home.

The drive in cinema will be open until September 1, 2020.
