A STABBING in Tilehurst has led to police seeking witnesses.

The incident took place at around 12.45am this morning in a property on Westwood Road, Tilehurst, Reading, when two men were involved in an altercation.

Police reported that a man in his twenties was stabbed multiple times in the body.

He was soon after rushed to hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

The road was cordoned off to motorists following the incident, and has since been reopened.

A 20 year old man has since been arrested in connection with the incident and remains in custody.

Investigating officer, Detective Inspector Alice Broad, based at Newbury police station said: “I am appealing for anyone with information about this incident, or who saw what happened, to please come forward.

“I would like to reassure the local community that we believe this to be an isolated incident and that there isn’t a threat to the wider community.

“There is a scene watch in place in Westwood Road and the road remains closed at this time.

“Officers will be in the local area conducting enquiries, please approach them if you have any questions.
