ALTHOUGH times are strange, there is still plenty of fun to be had in Reading.

1. Knockout Escape Rooms - 5*

If you're looking for some weekend escapism - literally - then look no further.

Knockout Escape Rooms include four live interactive room scenarios - Mad Scientist, Prison Break, 9-5 Assassin and The Curious Cabin.

Try to Escape within the 60 minutes - teamwork is best!

Based in Milford Road, this is definitely a fun thing to do with friends or family.

Covid-19 safety guidelines are also in place at the moment.

TripAdvisor rates Knockout Escape Rooms as 5/5 stars.

One reviewer said just this week: "Escaped.

"Felt very COVID safe. Masks for briefing, hand sanitiser and temperature check on arrival. "Reassurance that the room had been cleaned. Glad we could take the mask off to complete the room."

2. Reload Laser Clay Shooting Range - 5*

Reading Chronicle:

Located at Rivermead Leisure Complex in Richfield Avenue, the clay shooting range provides something different and entertaining to try.

It is UK's first dedicated laser target sport venue, allowing you to come along, chill out and shoot stuff with our laser shotguns.

Again, this is rated on TripAdviser as 5/5 stars.

A recent reviewer said: "Fab afternoon out!

"Socially distanced and everything cleaned down before and after our visit. Great pointers given, drinks and snacks to buy and super fun!"

3. Big on Bouncing - Play Days & Parties - 5*

Reading Chronicle:

One for the kids, this huge play room, based in Ladds Garden Centre, Hare Hatch, is a pre-school children's paradise!

Full use of bouncy castles, soft play frame, Gruffalo sensory area, ball pond, interactive system, lights and much more.

TripAdvisor reviewers rate this as 5.5 stars.

One reviewer said: "This was a great place to take my friends kids who were staying for the weekend. They absolutely loved it and the food was great.

"Really recommend Big on Bouncing for regular visits with the kids - they won't stop talking about it!"

4. Reading Climbing Centre 4.5*

Reading Chronicle:

Located on Robert Cort Industrial Estate, Britten Road, the centre is a friendly, modern climbing facility with a shop and cafe on-site.

It is great for adults, families and kids.

Rated 4.5/5 stars on TripAdvisor, the climbing centre is definitely worth a visit.

One reviewer said: "Took 20 explorer scouts here for a 90min session, great time had by all.

"Staff were lovely, very helpful, attentive and professional.

"Cafe staff excellent, brought our coffees to the table and their freshly made pizza was delicious. We will be back!"

5. Weekend Warriors Paintball - 4.5*

More escapism and fun can be expected at the Weekend Warriors Paintball Centre in Park Lane.

there is something for groups of all ages, from children's parties to hen/stag dos.

TripAdvisor rates this paintballing centre as 4.5/5 stars.

One glowing review reads: "Booked here for my daughter’s 15th birthday party and everyone had such a great time. Booking process was simple and easy.

"A chaperone/referee stayed with our group the whole time so everyone knew exactly what they were doing and where to go.

"Paintballs are rationed out so they have so many per game which is great.

"Pizza and drinks were provided which was a lovely treat, saved us hauling bags of food in. We felt really looked after from start to finish and lots of fun was had by all. Thank you!"
