A MAN has been stabbed in East Reading tonight (Aug 4).

Thames Valley Police confirmed that officers are currently in London Road after the man was attacked earlier this evening.

Officers have cordoned off a section of the road and it is currently closed in both directions.

UPDATE: Road still closed as police investigate stabbing

South Central Ambulance Service said the attack happened outside St Bartholomew's Church, St Bartholomew's Road, Reading.

The service sent 2 Ambulances, RAF Responders, a commanding officer and the Air Ambulance

The victim is currently in hospital in a stable condition, according to officers.

A video posted on social media shows several police vehicles and police tape which has cordoned off a large section of the road outside a number of homes.

It appears to be from Sutton Seeds Roundabout to the junction with Cholmeley Road.

Traffic reports show heavy congestion in the area as a result, with queues back to Forbury Retail Park.

Members of the public captured the moment the air ambulance landed in Palmer Park, next to London Road.

Thames Valley Police added that an investigation into the stabbing is underway, and members of the public will see an increased police presence while this takes place.
