The total number of lab-confirmed UK cases of Covid-19 now stand at 302,301.

According to the latest government figures, 846 additional cases were diagnosed on on Thursday July 30.

The total number of deaths in the UK now stands at 45,999 with 38 additional deaths announced in the latest government release.

The number of recorded coronavirus cases in Buckinghamshire increased by two over the last 24 hours, official figures show.

Public Health England figures show that 1,737 people had been confirmed as testing positive for Covid-19 by 9am on Thursday (July 30) in Buckinghamshire, up from 1,735 the same time on Wednesday.

The health body is now including Pillar 2 tests – those carried out by commercial partners – alongside Pillar 1 tests, which are analysed in NHS or PHE laboratories and which made up the first stage of the Government's mass testing programme.

The rate of infection in Buckinghamshire now stands at 322 cases per 100,000 people, far lower than the England average of 465.

This comes after people from different households across Greater Manchester, parts of East Lancashire and West Yorkshire have been banned from meeting each other indoors.

The announcement, which came unexpectedly and with a few hours notice late last night (Thursday, July 30), came into force at midnight.

Elsewhere in Slough, there are now a total of 661 confirmed cases.

The rate of infection in Slough currently stands at 443.3.

In Windsor and Maidenhead there are a total of 419 confirmed cases, with the Royal Borough having a much lower rate of infection (277.7)

In Oxfordshire there are 3,231 cases and in Hertfordshire there are 4,280.
