GP surgeries across the country have been rated by patients as part of the 2020 GP Patient Survey and we can now reveal the best and worst local GP surgeries based on patients' satisfaction with booking appointments.

The survey, created by NHS England and Ipsos MORI, looks at patients’ overall experience of primary care services and their overall experience of accessing these services.

As part of the survey, patients were asked “Were you satisfied with the type of appointment (or appointments) you were offered?”

Lambourn Surgery came in with the highest patient satisfaction with 88 per cent of survey respondents saying “Yes, and I accepted an appointment”.

Meanwhile, 0 per cent said “No, and I did not take an appointment”.

Russell Street Surgery came in second place with 86 per cent of respondents accepting an appointment offered to them.

Abbey Medical Centre was third with 84 per cent of respondents saying "yes" to an appointment and 2 per cent saying “No, and I did not take an appointment”.

Burdwood Surgery had 84 per cent of its respondents saying "yes" to an appointment.

Hungerford Surgery had 82 per cent of respondents saying yes to an appointment and 6 per cent said “no” to accepting the appointment.

The number of patients responding to the questionnaires varies between each GP surgery.

Across the country, the latest survey consisted of around 2.3 million postal questionnaires sent out to adults registered with GP practices in England from January 2020 to the end of March 2020.

About 740,000 patients completed and returned the form, meaning there was a national response rate of 31.7 per cent according to NHS England.

At the other end of the results, GP surgeries who saw the highest percentage of patients saying "no" and not taking an appointment are listed below.

Kennett Surgery – 13 per cent

Falkland Surgery – 10 per cent

The Downland Practice – 10 per cent

Emmer Green Surgery – 10 per cent

Loddon Vale Practice – 8 per cent.
