A ROBBER threatened to stab a man after he was confronted by the victim for stealing his bike in broad daylight.

At about 3.15pm on Tuesday, July 21, a man in his 30s heard a noise coming from a bike shed at his property in Woolhampton Way, Reading.

When he went to find out what the noise was, he saw a man attempting to steal his bicycle.

The robber took the bicycle and after he was confronted by the victim, he threatened to stab him by pretending he had a knife.

The attack continued into Greenham Avenue.

Police said the robber, who has a black tattoo on his neck, left the scene with the bicycle and nothing else was stolen.

He is a white man, in his 30s, with a slim build and around 5ft 8ins tall.

Officers say that he had a long light brown/blonde beard and messy hair and was wearing a baseball cap with a white logo, a long sleeved black t-shirt and grey trousers.

He also had a black tattoo of script writing on the left side of his neck.

Investigating officer Detective Sergeant Stuart Streeter, based at Reading police station said: “I am appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this incident, or anyone who has any information, to please come forward.
