A GROUP that monitors the movement of nuclear weapons has said a convoy was seen heading towards Reading.

It was tracked on yesterday (Wednesday, July 15) by members of the Oxford Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND) as it travelled through on the A34 at around 5pm.

The CND said the convoy was returning from the Coulport base in Scotland and heading towards the Atomic Weapons Establishment in Burghfield.

A picture taken by the group shows the convoy as it was being driven out of Oxford.

One member said: "This is the most deadly cargo on our roads."
