Marlow Library will undergo a remodel and a refurbishment which will begin on Monday, July 13.

Confirmed by Buckinghamshire Council, the new library will boast improved computer facilities, a new meeting room, self-service technology, and loanable tablets.

The new-look library on Institute Road will also have a bigger and improved children's space with bold colours, bean bags for the youngsters to sit on, a themed seating area and a sensory StoryWall.

An artist will also be commissioned to enhance the distinctive interior design with an original installation inspired by the unique and quirky things Marlow has to offer.

The shelving and furniture will also be replaced, with the library being redecorated throughout.

Cllr Gareth Williams, cabinet member for communities & public health, said:

"Libraries have such an important role to play in supporting businesses, employment and mental health at this difficult time.

“This project is an exciting initiative for our new council and will transform Marlow Library."

Alex Collingwood, local Marlow councillor, commented: “I'm delighted that Marlow Library is now entering the next phase of its development to serve the residents of Marlow and the surrounding villages in the South West Chilterns Area.
