CHURCHES in Earley have announced the details of their reopening to residents looking for private prayer.

All churches in the UK have been closed to residents since the start of lockdown in March, following the government's decision to close public places of worship due to the Coronavirus.

However churches and other places of worship were reopened to the public on June 15.

Yesterday, on July 5, the Earley Help Hub, a community of staff and helpers in churches across Earley, announced their opening times for residents to pray privately.

The hub announced that currently Our Lady of Peace Church, Wokingham Road, is open for private prayer every day 10am - 6pm, St Nicolas Church, Sutcliffe Avenue, is open for private prayer Tuesdays 7-9pm, Wednesdays 2-4pm, and Fridays 10am - 12pm, St Peter's Church, Church road, is Open for private prayer on Thursdays 10am to 12pm and 6 to 9pm, Trinity Church, Chalfont Close, is Open for private prayer on Tuesdays 2-4pm, Wednesdays 9am - 4pm, and Thursday 11am - 4pm.

A spokesman for Earley Help Hub said: "We are pleased to share the details of the churches in Earley and Lower Earley which are open for Private Prayer.

"Each church has its own specific systems in place for Social Distancing to ensure everyone is kept safe, so please visit their Facebook pages for more information. We will keep this list updated"
