CHILDREN'S play parks in Woodley are now back open, the town council announced last week.

The play areas, which have been shut since March due to the coronavirus lockdown, finally reopened to the public last weekend, on July 4.

However the Woodley Town Council have said that residents using the facilities must ensure they play safely, by social distancing, hand washing and avoiding use if you have symptoms.

A spokesman for Woodley Town Council said: "The Town Council's play areas will reopen to the public on Saturday, July 4, in accordance with Government guidance.

"We are very pleased to welcome you back to our play areas.

"Please ensure that you abide by the following rules in order to keep yourself and others safe; Do not use the equipment or visit the site if you or someone you have been in contact with has coronavirus symptoms, observe the current social distancing rules, wash/sanitise your hands before and after use of the equipment, bring your own hand sanitiser, gel or wipes, catch coughs and sneezes in a tissue and dispose of at home, and if the area is busy, come back another time."
