POLICE are warning neighbours to be vigilant following reports of a man reportedly trying car door handles.

Residents reported the crimes to police after spotting a would-be thief trying to get into cars in Woodley, Wokingham.

Officers are asking drivers to keep their doors locked and not to leave any valuables inside.

Also, opportunist thieves are using electronic devices to jam the electronic signal from the key fob to lock your car.

The safest thing is to always manually check the car is locked before walking away.

Police said: "Thames Valley Police have received reports of a male trying door handles of vehicles in the Woodley area. We would like to hear from anyone who may have CCTV, video doorbell or dashcam footage or may have seen anything suspicious.

"If you have any information, please report online or call 101.
