A WOMAN in her eighties was left 'frightened' after burglars broke into her home in Hurst.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the burglary in Tape Lane, which happened at around 6.20pm on Thursday, June 11.

The woman had been at home when offenders went to the rear of her property and smashed the glass of her back patio doors.

They left when they heard the victim in the house.

No property was stolen and the victim was uninjured.

The offenders are described as two men, wearing dark clothing with hooded tops. They were travelling in a dark grey hatchback.

Investigating officer, detective constable Dennis Hicks, based at Loddon Valley police station, said: “This was a frightening experience for the victim and I am appealing to anyone who has any information about this incident to come forward.
