AS a nation we love our four-legged friends but sadly there are many that need rehoming.
If you’re dreaming of long country walks with a furry friend or play time in the park, we have got five lovely dogs for you to consider giving a forever home all from Dogs Trust Newbury.
The trust in Plumb’s Farm looks after a host of dogs pining for a new family whether that's a calm and quiet home for Ellie the Jack Russel or an active family for Kaya the German Shepherd.
Dogs Trust has made some changes to their adoption process during the coronavirus pandemic.

The website states: “We’ve set up a new rehoming process which includes social distancing measures to help keep staff and adopters safe.
“We’re now matching dogs with their new homes virtually and delivering dogs contact-free.
“For dogs who need more time to get to know their new family, in England and Northern Ireland you can now meet them at our rehoming centres by appointment.”

Branny
Branny is a 9 year old Crossbreed and loves nothing more than playing fetch with his carers.
He enjoys snuggle time on the sofa in the afternoons and is very people orientated.
Branny is looking for a quiet home where he can build up a relationship with his new owners and settle in.
He must be the only pet in the home and is looking for owners that can take him on quiet walks away from other dogs.
Ellie
Ellie is an 11 year old Jack Russell who is a bright and sparky girl who loves to play with her toys and enjoy her treats.
Ellie is looking for a calm and quiet home with limited visitors and would prefer a home away from the hustle of town life.

She is very clever and eager to learn but will require some ongoing training in her new home with the support of a training team.
Ellie needs to be the only pet in the home.
Kaya
Kaya is a one year old German Shepherd who finds the world overwhelming and is still learning and growing at her own pace.
She is a sweet girl who enjoys playing with her toys and once she gets to know you, which may take her a little while, she enjoys a gentle fuss.
Kaya is looking for an active family who will continue her training.
She will need to build up her confidence in new environments and with new people and must be the only pet in the home.
Kaya is very worried and reactive around other dogs and will need quiet places to walk where she can avoid dogs.
Mike
Mike is a ten year old Staffie mix and enjoys human company but he also likes his own space he can relax in.
His biggest love is food!
Mike would like to be the only pet in the house and would need owners who are around for most of the day as he doesn’t like being left alone.
He is working with the behaviour team at Dogs Trust Newbury but he can be anxious in indoor environments to begin with so needs a quiet home with people who are willing to help him gently integrate into the home.

Pippin
Pippin is a ten-year-old Terrier cross and is fun to be around.
He likes to keep his mind active but also needs to learn how to relax.
Pippin would like a quiet adult only home in a rural setting and would prefer a quieter area where there are limited amounts of people and dogs.
He will require ongoing training in the home
He has basic training but he will need owners willing to continue his training with help from centre staff.
