RECYCLING centres, electricity networks and generators - all three of these are not the source of the humming noise, so what is?

Lately, a mysterious humming noise has been piercing through resident's houses keeping people up at night.

The Bracknell News is trying to investigate what the "mysterious" humming noise could be after a number of residents in North Ascot kept hearing it persistently.

Rebecca Joule from London Road, Ascot, said she started hearing the noise 'on and off' a year ago.

Now, she hasn't heard it for a few nights and definitely doesn't think it's in her home as residents living in Mill Ride, Gainsborough Drive and in Bracknell can hear it too.

Lucy Sexton, who lives in Mill Ride said: "It's like a small plane which fly's over your house but constant. It's a real humming noise and I hear it at about 8pm after my two kids have gone to bed and its quiet in the house."

Rebecca said the nearby recycling centre may be worth looking into as they could omit a low frequency sound.

Re3 recycling centre in Longshot Lane was contacted and they carried out an investigation but also couldn't find anything.

They said: "We’ve checked again and nothing can be heard at the Longshot Lane. Apologies but we are unable to help solving this mystery!"

Suggestions over the electricity network making the noise was also made, however they too said they couldn't find the problem after sending engineers out.
