Two new coronavirus-related deaths were announced at east London hospitals today.
Both were recorded at Barts Health NHS Trust, which manages Whipps Cross in Leytonstone and four other inner-east London hospitals.
Neighbouring Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust (BHRUT), which manages King George Hospital in Ilford and Queen's Hospital in Romford, declared no new deaths.
In total, there have been 1,014 deaths confirmed at the two trusts since the start of the pandemic in March.
Barts Health NHS Trust has seen almost 200 more deaths than BHRUT.
The trust has seen the most deaths from the virus of any NHS trust in London.
Across the nation, there were 108 deaths confirmed in hospitals and just 5 confirmed in the wider community.
More than 1,900 new people tested positive for the virus yesterday, according to Public Health England.
Since the start of the pandemic, almost 38,000 UK residents have died and more than 34,000 in England alone.
