THOUSANDS of pounds have been donated to Reading YMCA by the Reading Rotary Club.
Although the Reading Rotary Club has suspended its regular meetings, its work in the community has continued.
The club's president Amir Kharkowa presented a cheque for £4,800 to Reading YMCA.

He said it was a pleasure to be associated with such an historic organisation as the YMCA who have been helping people in Reading since 1846.
He added that a key part of the club's work was to help local young people in need and hoped that this donation for computer equipment will assist the YMCA's residents, clients and staff to improve their IT skills as part of their personal and career development.
Receiving the cheque Arlene Kersley, Chief Executive of Reading YMCA, said the support from Reading Rotarians had come as such an unexpected and very welcome surprise especially during these very difficult times.

She added they were thrilled to accept this cheque in the same week as the building contractors had been allowed to return to work on their Sport Centre project.
