A SCARED horse that landed upside down after falling into a ditch had to be rescued by firefighters.
A crew from Westbury raced to the village of Coulston at 8.16pm along with Bath's Animal Rescue Unit and their Papa 4 appliance along with police officers to help the struggling animal.
The horse's rider was released before the fire service arrived at the scene. A vet then arrived and sedated the horse so that the fire crews could rescue the horse by using a telehandler. The horse was relocated to the field to recover from sedation.
