The following cases were heard at Reading Magistrates’ Court:

March 9:

RICHARD FOOTE, 40, of Mabett Close, Arborfield, admitted driving while disqualified in Whitley Wood Lane, Reading, on September 15, 2019. Also admitted using a vehicle without the correct insurance on the same occasion. Fined £346 and ordered to pay £34.60 victim surcharge. Must also pay £85 court costs. Disqualified from driving for nine months.

SONNER TODD, 45, of Willow Street, Reading, admitted stealing bottles of wine worth £90 from Marks and Spencer in Reading Station on March 23, 2019. Fined £100 and ordered to pay £30 victim surcharge.

STEPHEN SAMPSON, 37, of Northumberland Avenue, Reading, admitted stealing meat products from Co-op on October 7, 2019. Also admitted assault in Reading on October 7, 2019. Given a community order to comply with 120 hours unpaid work. Also ordered to pay £100 compensation.

LUKE RICHARDSON, 25, of Hunters Hill, Burghfield, admitted failing to comply with requirements of a community order including not attending rehabillitation activity appointments on January 21, 2020. Fined £40.

HANNAH HOWARD, 38, of Waterloo Rise, Reading, admitted being drunk in a public place namely Peppard Road, Reading, on October 1, 2019. Fined £50 and ordered to pay £32 victim surcharge.

March 10:

ANNE BAILEY, 42, of Kennet Walk, Reading, convicted of assault by beating in Reading on November 26, 2018. Also admitted failing to surrender to Reading Magistrates’ Court having been released on bail on January 31, 2020. Given a community order to comply with rehabilitation activity and 60 hours unpaid work. Also made subject of a restraining order. Ordered to pay £90 victim surcharge and £350 court costs.

MALCOLM JACK, 25, of Littlehorse Close, Reading, admitted possession of a Stanley knife in Wilton Road, Reading, on February 11, 2019. Also admitted possession of class B drug cannabis in Reading on February 11, 2019. Given a community order to comply with rehabilitation activity. Also ordered to pay £85 victim surcharge and £85 court costs.

ADRIAN CORNISH, 33, of Grove Road, Newbury in West Berkshire, admitted racially or religiously aggravated common assault in Newbury on October 19, 2019. Also admitted assault by beating on January 1, 2020, in Newbury. Given a community order to comply with rehabilitation activity and 100 hours of unpaid work. Fined £200 and ordered to pay £125 compensation. Must also pay £90 victim surcharge and £170 court costs.

QASIM HUSSAIN, 34, of Newtown Road, Newbury, admitted stealing a bottle of vodka worth £25 from Tesco in Newbury on December 12, 2019. Also admitted assault by beating in Newbury on December 12, 2019, and admitted possession of class B drug cannabis in Newbury on December 12, 2019. Given a community order to comply with a curfew with electronic monitoring for two months. Also ordered to pay £90 victim surcharge and £85 compensation.

TANNA SINGH, 40, of Colemans Moor Lane, Woodley, admitted drink-driving in Colemans Moor Lane, Reading, on March 5, 2020. Found to have 75mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath, the legal limit being 35mcg. Also admitted using a vehicle without the correct insurance on March 5, 2020, in Colemans Moor Lane, Reading. Also admitted driving while disqualified on the same occasion. Sentenced to 12 weeks in prison suspended for two years due to severity of offence and it happened so soon after commencement of a disqualification for similar offence. Also ordered to pay £122 victim surcharge and £85 court costs. Disqualified from driving for five months.

March 11:

IKRAM ALI, 30, of Gas Works Road, Reading, admitted using a vehicle without the correct insurance on London Road, Reading, on March 9, 2020. Also admitted using a vehicle in Donnington Gardens, Reading, without the correct insurance on March 5, 2020. Fined £120 and ordered to pay £32 victim surcharge. Also ordered to pay £85 court costs. Disqualified from driving for six months.

SANDRA WHITTAKER, 50, of Sherbourne Drive, Woodley, admitted drink-driving on the A340 Tidmarsh Road, Reading, on January 19, 2020. Found to have 88mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath, the legal limit being 35mcg. Fined £120 and ordered to pay £32 victim surcharge. Must also pay £85 court costs. Disqualified from driving for 17 months.
