The first day at Reading’s recycling tip was busy as people arrived to drop off waste they could not store safely at home.

The re3 recycling centres on Smallmead Island Road, Reading and on Longshot Lane, Bracknell re-opened today, (Monday, May 18) with a booking system in place.
Both sites have been temporarily closed due to the coronavirus outbreak but residents in Bracknell and Reading are now able to get rid of their household waste.
However, you are only able to go to the dump through its online booking system ‘Click and Tip’, which will open on Friday, May 15 at 10am.
People living in Bracknell, Wokingham and Reading will be able to book a time slot via a form on the websites provided below.

Booking is available for slots from 8am to 6pm, Monday to Sunday and residents can book up to seven days in advance.
The sites are working at half the capacity so there are a limited number of booking slots available.
Social distancing is in place with all visitors required to keep the appropriate distance from each other, at least 2m apart.
Residents also have to display their proof of address through closed windows in their car and use contactless payments for transactions if possible.
