A MAN and woman arrested as part of murder investigation after a baby died have been released on bail.

The investigation was launched earlier this week after a one-month-old baby boy died in Newbury.

Police were called to a home in Ashridge Court by South Central Ambulance Service at about 1.50am on Saturday, May 9.

It followed reports that a one-month-old baby boy was in cardiac arrest.

Thames Valley Police said the baby, called Colby Lawton, was taken to hospital for treatment but later died.

He was born on Friday, April 10, this year.

Police have said the baby's cause of death is currently unknown.

The 26-year-old man and 24-year-old woman, both from Newbury, who were arrested have both been bailed until June 11.
