A MAN was taken to hospital early this morning following a hit and run in Reading.

Police are appealing for witnesses after an incident on the A329, Oxford Road, outside of the store Richer Sounds.

At around 2.20am today (April 25), a man had been crossing the road when he was hit by an unknown vehicle, which did not remain at the scene.

It is likely the vehicle was travelling in the direction of Reading Town Centre.

The 38-year-old man, who was injured in the collision, was taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital for treatment and was later discharged.

He sustained non-life threatening injuries.

Investigating officer PC Gareth Miles, of the Roads Policing Unit based at Three Mile Cross, said: “We would like to speak to anyone who may have seen this incident.
