A MAN has been arrested after reports of someone 'touching themselves inappropriately' near the River Kennet.

The 26-year-old man from Reading has been arrested on suspicion of indecent exposure.

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses after it said a man was seen 'touching himself inappropriately' by the River Kennet near Rose Kiln Lane.

Police say it happened at around 11.30am on Wednesday, April 8.

Investigating officer detective constable Alan Pearcy, of Local CID in Reading, said: “Thames Valley Police would like to speak to anyone with information about this incident.

“It happened in the middle of the day and although there aren’t as many people out and about, we do think he may have been seen by others at the time.
