The following cases were heard at Reading Magistrates’ Court:

February 19:

SIMON HUGHES, 60, of Wheatlands Lane in Newbury, admitted criminal damage to a car worth £1,344.47 in Newbury on May 11, 2019. Given a conditional discharge for 18 months, and made subject to a restraining order. Also ordered to pay £1,344.47 compensation and £20 victim surcharge. Must also pay £85 court costs.

AMY THORPE, 34, of Redlands Road, Reading, admitted three charges of fraud by false representation on September 15, 2019 in Reading by using a bank card that belonged to someone else on three occasions. Also admitted dishonestly receiving stolen goods, namely stolen bank cards, knowing they were stolen on September 15, 2019, in Reading. Given a community order to comply with rehabilitation activity. Also ordered to pay £90 victim surcharge.

HAMZA QUADRI, 25, of East Court avenue, Reading, convicted of assault by beating in Reading on March 9, 2019. Fined £120 and ordered to pay £250 compensation. Also ordered to pay £30 victim surcharge and £775 court costs.

KRISTOPHER TUFFOUR, 24, of Wensley Road, Reading, admitted driving without the correct licence in Oxford Road, Reading, on October 12, 2019, and admitted driving on the same occasion without the correct insurance. Fined £250 and ordered to pay £32 victims surcharge. Must also pay £85 court costs. Six points added to driving licence.

KAROL WIERCINSKI, 34, of Woods Road, Caversham in Reading, admitted driving while disqualified in Bedford Road, Reading, on August 3, 2019. Also admitted possession of Class B drug cannabis in Reading on August 3, 2019, and admitted drug driving on the same occasion. Found to have cocaine in his system. Given a community order to comply with 150 hours unpaid work. Also ordered to pay £90 victim surcharge and £85 court costs. Disqualified from driving for three years.

AMEENA BEGUM, 20, of Cholmeley Road, Reading, admitted assault by beating in Reading on March 9, 2019. Given a conditional discharge for 12 months and ordered to pay £20 victim surcharge. Must also pay £250 court costs.

ADAM BRIANT, 33, of Burchell Road, Newbury, admitted drink-driving on the A339 in Newbury on February 1, 2020. Found to have 92mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath, the legal limit being 35mcg. Given a community order to comply with 100 hours unpaid work and ordered to pay £90 victim surcharge. Also ordered to pay £85 court costs. Disqualified from driving for 24 months.

JAKE MORRIS, 24, of Station Road, Thatcham in West Berkshire, admitted being in charge of a vehicle will under the influence of cannabis on the A4 London Road in Newbury on March 31, 2019. Fined £150 and ordered to pay £32 victim surcharge. Must also pay £250 court costs. 10 points added to driving licence.

MORREL STEVENS, 35, of Redruth Gardens, Reading, admitted drink-driving in Oxford Road, Reading on February 1, 2020. Found to have 78mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath, the legal limit being 35mcg. Given a community order to comply with rehabilitation activity and must undertake 200 hours of unpaid work. Also ordered to pay £90 victim surcharge and £85 court costs. Disqualified from driving for 36 months.

SAMUEL BRYANT, 27, of Peppard Road, Sonning Common in Reading, admitted criminal damage to a toilet and sink in Broad Street Mall on January 18, 2020. Given a conditional discharge for six months and ordered to pay £100 compensation. Also ordered to pay £21 victim surcharge and £85 court costs.

February 20:

RICHARD HISCOCK, 25, of Willow Street in Reading, admitted stealing two Phillip Electric razors worth £199.98 from Boots in Reading on February 1, 2020. Also admitted burglary other than dwelling having trespassed into Next in the Oracle, Reading, and stolen a cash draw worth £1,177 on February 3, 2020. Admitted stealing two Hilfiger jackets worth £240 from John Lewis in Reading on January 21, 2020, and admitted stealing two Hilfiger jackets worth £240 from John Lewis in Reading on January 23, 2020. Also admitted stealing three Hilfiger jackets worth £195 from John Lewis in Reading on January 24, 2020. Sentenced to 18 weeks in prison suspended for 18 months. Also ordered to pay £450 compensation.

LAUREN DEAN, 22, of Canterbury Road, Reading, admitted using threatening or abusive words or behaviour to cause alarm or distress in Reading on September 14, 2019. Fined £75 and ordered to pay £32 victim surcharge. Must also pay £30 court costs.

BARRY GOSNEY, 32, of Hunters hill in Burghfield Common, Reading, admitted failing to comply with requirements of a community order made in Reading on October 25, 2019, by not attending planned appointments on November 15, 2019, November 22, 2019, and December 4, 2019. Also admitted failing to comply with supervision requirements after period of detention by not attending appointments on the same dates. Fined £50 and varied community order in place including rehabilitation activity.
