COMEDIAN and actor Ricky Gervais has spoken out about his humble upbringing in Reading.
Speaking to The Sun, the popular After Life star explained how he was born in Battle Hospital, Reading, in the 60s.

He added: "I was the fourth child of an immigrant labourer. My dad worked on building sites all his life, until he was 70."
This comes as part of a response Gervais had to celebrities complaining about being confined to their homes during lockdown.
Speaking about the tireless work of the NHS, he told The Sun: "But then I see someone complaining about being in a mansion with a swimming pool.
"And, you know, honestly, I just don’t want to hear it."
He added: "I also realised growing up that all the best things were free — friends, nature, learning and healthcare. And that’s why I gladly pay my taxes. And that’s why I clap the NHS."
Season two of hit show After Life will be returning to Nextflix on April 24.
