A MAN who flouted a restraining order just weeks after breaching it for a second time has been spared jail.

A judge at Oxford Magistrates’ Court said yesterday that Kelvin Green had a ‘total disregard’ for the court order.

The 44-year-old of Gibbs Crescent, Oxford, appeared at court to plead guilty to one offence of breaching a restraining order.

Prosecutor Peter Ryman said that Green had been made subject to an indefinite order against his victim in December 2018.

On Wednesday police were alerted after he breached that order and went to the woman’s Steventon address.

Green had gone there, the court heard, after the woman saw him while driving along Botley Road, Oxford, and she pulled over before inviting him to her home for food.

His defence barrister Alan Morgan said that his client believed the order had been lifted but had admitted the offence.

He added that Green had not been in a relationship with the woman and they had only been friends.

Green has breached the same order on two other occasions, in May last year and again on March 11 this year.

Sentencing, District Judge Kamlesh Rana said: “Literally weeks before you had been in court for a similar matter, and you have totally disregarded the terms of this order and do what you feel is appropriate.”

Green was jailed for 12 weeks, suspended for 18 months and he must complete 20 rehabilitation days.
