THREE people have been arrested after a string of vehicles were set on fire over one night.

Thames Valley Police said eight vehicles were attacked by arsonists in the early hours of Wednesday, March 25.

The fires were started in three areas of Reading and happened between midnight and 4am, including vehicles in The Maying, Grove Hill and Wensley Road,

Officers have since arrested a 35-year-old man, from Reading, on suspicion of arson and breach of bail.

A 14-year-old boy, and a 24-year-old man, both from Reading, have also been arrested on suspicion of arson.

All three have been released on bail.

Investigating officer, Detective Constable Helen Gilbert, of Reading Police Station said: “We have made three arrests in connection with these incidents, with all three being bailed.

“I am appealing for information or witnesses to these incidents to come forward and speak to police.

Thames Valley Police originally stated that the incidents happened in Scott Close, but has since clarified that this is not the case.
