A CAFE owner who's wedding has been cancelled due to the coronavirus had decided to remain positive and help NHS frontline staff by delivering cakes and afternoon teas.

Robyn Nixon from Bracknell launched 'cheer me up teas' at her cafe Robyn's Nest in a bid to help people who are self-isolating to still enjoy her "delicious" baked goods during the Covid-19 lockdown.

The takeaway service launched as the government announced that everyone in the UK should be social distancing and staying indoors.

As such, Mother's Day stopped many loves ones from seeing each other but this didn't prevent Robyn had her team of 20 staff members go out to deliver afternoon tea boxes to deserving ladies on Sunday.

She said: "It's weird, I am normally a grumpy person but the impact it has had on me has made me feel overwhelmed by the support. It pulls on your heart strings seeing how some people are alone so I want to help as much as I can.

"We are even encouraging residents to order cakes which we will deliver to places like Bracknell Ambulance Station to help NHS staff who are struggling the most now.

"My mum who is an accountant told me this won't be making my business much money but for me this isn't about the money, it is about making people smile during all the doom and gloom."

Robyn and her fiancé Elliot had to cancel their wedding and their trip to New York for his 30th birthday because of the coronavirus.
