A WOMAN has been airlifted to hospital after being seriously injured in a crash last night (Thursday, March 12).

Emergency services were called to the scene of a crash involving a grey Fiat 500 on Glasspool Road, Winnersh.

The woman in her 20s was airlifted to Southampton General Hospital with a serious head injury.

Thames Valley Police said: "Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses and dash-cam footage after a woman aged in her twenties was seriously injured in a road traffic collision last night.

"It happened at around 10.30pm in Glasspool Road, Winnersh involving a grey Fiat 500.

"The woman has been airlifted to Southampton General Hospital with a serious head injury.

"Anyone with any information or dash-cam footage should call 101, quoting reference 43200084969."

Fire crews also attended the scene after being called by South Central Ambulance Service.

A spokesperson from Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service added: "Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Wokingham Road, Wokingham and Caversham Road were sent to the scene.

"Firefighters worked with Ambulance and Police at the scene to make the scene safe. Crews were on scene for about 35 minutes."
