A ROBBER who stole cash from a till after pushing a staff member in a bookies has been jailed.

Stuart Turner, 31, of Liverpool Road, Reading was sentenced to two years and four months for commercial robbery.

The robber targeted a bookies in Liscombe, Bracknell in July 2019 where he pushed an employee over in the shop.

He then took cash from the till and made threats during the robbery.

Luckily, no one was injured during the robbery.

Turner pleaded guilty to one count of robbery in relation to the robbery at Reading Crown Court on Monday, February 17.

He was sentenced at the same court on Monday, March 9.

The court heard how Turner robbed three other bookmakers during June 23, 2019 to July 13, 2019 on High Street in Bracknell, one in Friar Street and West Street in Reading.

Investigating officer Detective Sergeant Greig Williams, of Force CID based at Maidenhead, said: “Turner targeted bookmakers for his own financial gain and I am satisfied that he has been jailed for his crimes.

“Thames Valley Police will not tolerate those who seek to use intimidation and force against shop workers, we will investigate you and you will be brought to justice.”
