WORRIED shoppers are stocking up soap, food and hand sanitisers in Reading amid growing fears about the spread of coronavirus.

Coronavirus has seen a sudden spark in panic buying across the country, and several local stores have been hit by concerned customers.
Pictures show empty shelves in supermarkets and places like Boots, which sell soap and hand sanitisers.

Freezers at a Morrisons store in Whitley were completely emptied in Monday (March 2) and Boots in The Oracle is quickly running low on soap.
So far, there is just one confirmed case in Berkshire, but several schools have been closed temporarily as a precaution or to carry out deep cleans.
Officials are advising people to wash their hands for the time it takes to sing 'Happy Birthday', but no government advice has advised stocking up on products.
