A KNIFE ARCH was thrown into action by Thames valley police last night at Theale train station.
The frame, used by the Pangbourne Neighbourhood Policing Team (NHPT), is a tool used to scan members of the public for hidden weapons, including knives.
Although the operation ended without any weapons being found, police successfully reported train-users who had avoided payment for a ticket.
Thames valley police West Berkshire said on Twitter: "The Pangbourne NHPT have been carrying out another joint operation with our colleagues @BTPBerks The knife arch was deployed in Theale this evening.
"No knives found positive deterrent & engagement. Numerous people were reported for fare evasion!"
