A SWINDON man denies burgling homes in Old Town and the town centre.
Appearing before Swindon Crown Court, Lee Dommett, 36, of Croft Road, pleaded not guilty to two counts of burglary.
He is accused of breaking into a house on Lansdowne Road, Old Town, on January 10, 2020, stealing a wallet, two passports and £2,000 in cash.
It is alleged he was responsible for a second burglary on Station Road the day afterwards, January 11, where a 24-carat gold chain, a ring and a watch were taken.
Chris Smyth, defending, said his client denied being the man responsible and had alibis for both occasions.
Colin Meeke appeared for the Crown Prosecution Service.
Adjourning the case for the trial on a date to be fixed, Judge Paul Cook said: “You will need to keep in touch with your solicitors.”
The trial is expected to last three days. Dommett was bailed.
