A SCHOOL has taken precautionary measures to prevent the killer coronavirus from spreading to staff and pupils.

Brakenhale School in Rectory Lane, Bracknell announced their decision to place hand sanitiser bottles around the school to ensure pupils and staff clean their hands.

The schools is among others in Berkshire taking precautionary measures to prevent the Covid-19 virus from spreading, with dozens of students self-isolating after returning from February half-term holidays in Italy.

Brakenhale School tweeted on Wednesday, February 26, to say: "Hand sanitisers have been distributed around the school today however these are in limited supply.

"Please see NHS link on washing hands which remains the most effective way of reducing germs."

It comes after Public Health England has issued advice to people to wash their hands thoroughly in order to prevent the spread of any infection.

 

In the past week, four schools sent pupils home to self isolate, including Meadow Vale Primary School in Bracknell.

Licensed Victuallers School in Ascot told 32 pupils and five staff members to quarantine themselves with their families for 14 days amid coronavirus fears.

A group of pupils took part in a ski trip in San Martino di Castrozza resort in Northern Italy and returned on Saturday, February 22.

There are things you can do to help stop germs like coronavirus spreading:

Always carry tissues with you and use them to catch your cough or sneeze. Then bin the tissue, and wash your hands, or use a sanitiser gel.

Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after using public transport. Use a sanitiser gel if soap and water are not available.

Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.

Avoid close contact with people who are unwell.
