A POPULAR West Berkshire park has announced it will be closed this weekend amid concerns to safety following Storm Dennis warnings.

After Storm Ciara battered parts of the country last weekend, causing damage and 'danger to life', a second storm is set to hit this Saturday (February 15), and Beale Wildlife Park will be closed amid warnings.

A spokeswoman for the park said: "We have taken the decision to close Beale Wildlife Park this weekend (February, Saturday 15 and Sunday 16) due to concerns over safety amid heavy weather warnings.

"The Met Office have applied a yellow weather warning for this weekend and it is for this reason, the safety of our visitors and the welfare of our animals that we have made this decision.

"We hope to open on Monday, February 17.
