The following cases were heard at Reading Magistrates’ Court:

November 12:

PATRICK DOHERTY, 24, of Eversley Road, Reading, convicted of assaulting a person thereby occasioning them to actual bodily harm in Bracknell on May 19. Sentenced to 13 weeks in prison suspended for 24 months. Also ordered to undertake rehabilitation activity and carry out 120 hours unpaid work. Also ordered to pay £115 victim surcharge and £170 court costs.

November 13:

RONALD MARTIN, 39, of Home Straight, Newbury, admitted criminal damage to a car in Bucklebury on April 25. Given a community order to comply with rehabilitation activity. Also ordered to pay £596.40 compensation and £85 court costs.

November 14:

SIMON BAMPTON, 45, of Russell Street, Reading, admitted handling stolen goods namely an Amazon Echo Dot and bluetooth speaker £200 in Reading on November 13. Given a conditional discharge for 12 months. Also ordered to pay £16 victim surcharge and £40 court costs.

CHIBWE EDWARDS, 41, of no fixed abode, admitted knowingly entered a residential building in Reading as a trespasser on November 13. Fined £50 and ordered to pay £32 victim surcharge.

FAHAD ALAWI, 33, of a boat moored on the River Thames near Tesco, admitted common assault in Reading on July 23, and conviction of another offence while subject to a community order after an original offence of sending grossly offensive messages in Wokingham between September 17, 2018, and September 28, 2018. Given a conditional discharge of 12 months and ordered to pay £21 victim surcharge. Sentenced to prison for 28 days.

ROTARU ALEXANDRU, 31, of Chapel Lane, Thatcham, admitted drink-driving in Northbrook Street, Newbury, on October 26. Found to have 48mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath, the legal limit being 35mcg. Fined £73 and ordered to pay £32 victim surcharge, plus £85 court costs. Disqualified from driving for 14 months.

LIAM KERRIGAN, 20, of Northumberland Avenue, Reading, admitted possessing class B drug cannabis in Reading on October 28. Given a conditional discharge for 12 months. Ordered to pay £21 victim surcharge and £85 court costs.

MIHAIL RESMERITA, 26, of Bartholomew Street, Newbury, admitted drink-driving on Bath Road, Thatcham, on October 26. Found to have 55mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath, the legal limit being 35mcg. Fined £110 and ordered to pay £32 victim surcharge, plus £85 court costs. Disqualified from driving for 16 months.

TAMSIN SROKOS, 43, of Azalea Close, Reading, admitted wilful omission or neglect of an engine or carriage at Winnersh Station on January 11, 2019. Given a conditional discharge for two years and ordered to pay £200 compensation. Ordered to pay £21 victim surcharge and £85 court costs.

SAMUEL BRAHAM, 28, of Brunswick Street, Reading, admitted harassment without violence in Reading between May 31 and July 12. Given a community order to comply with rehabilitation activity and made subject to a restraining order. Also ordered to pay £90 victim surcharge and £250 court costs.

MICHAEL HOWE, 32, of Basingstoke Road, Reading, admitted stealing a pedal cycle worth £299 in Reading on August 24. Also failed to comply with supervision requirements following a period of detention by not attending appointments on July 11, July 13, July 17, July 25, and July 31. Admitted stealing mens underwear worth £52.50 from John Lewis in Reading on September 26. Also admitted stealing four boxes of Calvin Klein boxer shorts worth £152 from John Lewis from Reading on October 2. Also admitted stealing two bottles of Cognac, two bottles of Jack Daniels, chocolates and apple juice all worth £124.05 from Tesco in Reading on October 5. Admitted stealing four boxes of Calvin Klein boxer shorts worth £152 from John Lewis in Reading on October 4, and admitted commission of a further offence while subject to a suspended sentence. Given a community order to comply with rehabilitation activity and is banned from entering Broad Street, John Lewis in Reading, or Tesco in Napier Road, Reading. Fined £200. Also ordered to pay £655.50 compensation and £90 victim surcharge.

November 15:

ABDIRIZAK OSMAN, 21, of Addington Road, Reading, convicted of assault be beating between December 14, 2018, and December 15, 2018, in Reading. Also admitted criminal damage by destroying a windscreen wiper on the same occasion in Reading. Convicted of assault by beating between December 14, 2018, and December 15, 2018, in Reading. Given a community order to comply with rehabilitation activity and to carry out 100 hours unpaid work. Also ordered to pay £421.31 compensation and £85 victim surcharge, plus £300 court costs.

RIZWANA ALI, 34, of Prince of Wales Avenue, Reading, convicted of assault by beating in Reading on June 23. Given a community order to comply with rehabilitation activity and made subject to a restraining order. Also ordered to pay £85 victim surcharge and £100 court costs.

GRAEME WILKIE, 35, of Dee Road, Tilehurst in Reading, admitted stealing various items worth £7.05 from Marks and Spencers in Reading on October 14, 2018. Given a conditional discharge of 18 months and ordered to ay £20 victim surcharge, plus £150 court costs.

DESMOND WILLIAMS, 50, of Barnwood Close, Reading, admitted stealing alcohol worth £106.60 from Sainsbury's in Reading on June 20. Also convicted of an offence while subject to a community order for two charges of theft. Given a community order to comply with rehabilitation activity. Also ordered to pay £85 victim surcharge and £85 court costs.

LISA WHELAN, 51, of Tidmarsh Road, Reading, convicted of using a vehicle without the correct insurance in Station Road, Didcot, on February 7. Given an absolute discharge.

ABIGAIL MORRISON, 19, of Glebe Gardens, Reading, admitted not being in a designated ticket area of a train at Twyford without have paid to travel on June 21, 2018. Fined £40 and ordered to pay £100 court costs.

November 16:

JAMES MOORE, 31, of no fixed abode, admitted harassment by breach of a restraining order in Earley on November 15. Fined £100 and ordered to pay £32 victim surcharge.

ANDREW REDKNAPP, 20, of no fixed abode, admitted stealing a Dr Pepper bottle, a phone cable, Black iPhone case, and a power bank all worth £60.33 from Tesco in Newbury. Also admitted commission of a further offence while subject to a conditional discharge after being convicted of stealing a pedal cycle. Fined £200 and ordered to pay £32 victim surcharge.

November 18: NATALIE SCOTT, 20, of Rainworth Close, Lower Earley, admitted being in a designated ticket area at Reading Railway Station without a valid ticket for travel on March 29. Fined £145 and ordered to pay £50 court costs.

STEPHEN PAINTER, 42, of Stanton Close, Earley, admitted stealing meat worth £39.76 from Sainsbury's in Reading on March 6. Also admitted stealing detergent and food or drink items worth £81.40 from Tesco on June 10 in Reading. Also admitted stealing clothing worth £141.90 from GAP in Broad Street on July 29, and admitted failing to comply with a community protection order notice by entering Reading Business zone on August 29. Also admitted stealing meat and alcohol worth £79 from Waitrose in Woodley on September 29. Also admitted stealing a jacket worth £59.99 from GAP in Reading on November 10 and admitted failing to comply with a community protection notice by entering Broad Street on November 10. Sentenced to 10 weeks in prison suspended for 12 months as offence so serious due to previous record. Also ordered to pay £140.66 compensation.

DARIUS NJIE-NEAR, 20, of Conway Road, Calcot, convicted of assault by beating of a uniformed police sergeant in Reading on February 10. Given a community order to comply with a curfew using electronic monitoring for four weeks. Also ordered to pay £50 compensation and £85 victim surcharge, plus £500 court costs.

STEVEN NICHOLLS, 30, of Drovers Way, Woodley, admitted failing to comply with a community order by not attending rehabilitation activity on December 6, 2019, and October 24, 2019. Community order to continue and also fined £100 and ordered to pay £60 court costs.

ARTHUR ZURAWSKI, 40, of Woodstock Street, Reading, admitted failing to comply with requirements of a community or by not attending unpaid work on September 15, and October 13. Fined £200 and £60 court costs.

NATASHA WOJCIECHOWSKI, 46, of Dalby Close, Hurst, Reading, convicted of failing to give information relating to the identification of a driver who was alleged to be guilty of an offence in Banbury between January 16 and February 13. Fined £1,000 and ordered to pay £100 victim surcharge, plus £150 court costs. Six points added to driving licence.
