The following cases were heard at Reading Magistrates’ Court:

November 6:

GARY GIDDENS, 29, of Raindrop Rest, Cold Ash in Thatcham, admitted drug-driving in Bear Lane, Newbury, on June 11, 2019. Fined £200 and ordered to pay £32 victim surcharge. Also ordered to pay £85 court costs. Disqualified from driving for 12 months.

LUCAS TORRES, 25, of Russell Street, Reading, admitted drink-driving in Oxford Road, Reading, on October 20. Found to have 44mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath, the legal limit being 35mcg. Fined £233 and ordered to pay £32 victim surcharge, plus £85 court costs. Disqualified from driving for 14 months.

DANIEL FROST, 29, of Ermin Street, Stockcross in Newbury, admitted using threatening or abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause fear in Market Place, Newbury, on October 5. Fined £260 and ordered to pay £32 victim surcharge, plus £85 court costs.

November 7:

CALVIN SHEPHERD, 35, of Gardenia in Woodley, admitted breaching a non-molestation order by making phone calls and text messages in Reading on October 16. Also admitted using violence to secure entry to premises in Reading on May 8. Given a community order to comply with rehabilitation activity. Made subject to a restraining order and ordered to pay £100 compensation. Must also pay £85 victim surcharge and £100 court costs.

INGUS VELIKANOVS, 28, of Moulsford Mews, Reading, admitted stealing groceries worth £34.85 from Waitrose in Bracknell on August 20. Also admitted going equipped for theft, namely being found with de-tagging tool in Bracknell on August 20, and failing to surrender to Berkshire Magistrates' Court on August 21 having been released on bail. Given a community order to comply with rehabilitation activity and must carry out 50 hours unpaid work. Also ordered to pay £90 victim surcharge and £85 court costs.

PHILIP BORCHERT, 29, of Desborough Close, Newbury, admitted drug-driving in Waller Drive, Newbury, on May 23. Found to have cocaine in their blood. Fined £120 and ordered to pay £30 victim surcharge, plus £85 court costs. Disqualified from driving for 12 months.

RANDINO BORELAND, 27, of Lyndhurst Road, Tilehurst in Reading, admitted using threatening or abusive words or behaviour likely to cause harassment or distress in Reading on October 23. Fined £160 and ordered to pay £32 victim surcharge, plus £85 court costs.

MATTHEW CLARKE, 35, of Angel Mead, Woolhampton in Reading, admitted drink-driving along the A4 Bath Road, near Midgeham, on August 6. Found to have 122mlg of alcohol in 100ml of blood, the legal limit being 80mlg. Fined £200 and ordered to pay £32 victim surcharge, plus £85 court costs. Disqualified from driving for 14 months.

DEREK DURRANT, 42, of Connaught Road, Reading, admitted assault by beating in Reading on April 12. Fined £250 and ordered to pay £250 compensation.

VERZILS MORARS, 33, of Anstey Road, Reading, admitted being drunk and disorderly in St Mary's Butts, Reading, on October 22. Fined £300 and ordered to pay £32 victim surcharge. Also ordered to pay £85 court costs.

THAI HARRIS, 19, of Blandford Road, Reading, admitted going equipped for theft namely having bolt croppers in Shinfield on September 18. Given a community order to comply with rehabilitation activity. Ordered to pay £90 victim surcharge and £85 court costs.

November 8:

KANE HEHOLT, 20, of Norfolk Road, Reading, convicted of travelling on a Great Western Railway service without having paid the £10 train fare in Reading on April 20. Fined £220 and ordered to pay £10 compensation, plus £30 victim surcharge. Must also pay £10 compensation and £160 court costs.

JAMIE LUNNON, 28, of Charvil House Road, Reading, convicted of travelling on a Great Western Railway service without having paid the £6.90 train fare on April 22 in Midgham. Fined £220 and ordered to pay £6.90 compensation. Must also pay £30 victim surcharge and £160 court costs.

AMIE MATHEWS, 24, of Lamb Close, Reading, convicted of travelling on a Great Western Railway service without having paid the £5.60 train fare in Newbury on April 24. Fined £220 and ordered to pay £5.60 compensation. Must also pay £30 victim surcharge and £160 court costs.

IAN MENHERT, 30, of Bath Road, Sonning in Reading, convicted of travelling on a Great Western Railways service without having paid the £4.40 train fare in Reading on April 15. Fined £220 and ordered to pay £4.40 compensation. Also ordered to pay £30 victim surcharge and £160 court costs.

GEORGE PURKISS, 36, of Crockwemwell Road, Woodley in Reading, convicted of travelling on a Great Western Railway service without having paid the £6.60 train fare in Twyford on April 22. Fined £220 and ordered to pay £6.60 compensation. Also ordered to pay £30 victim surcharge and £160 court costs.

November 11:

RODNEY MENDEZ, 50, of no fixed abode, admitted stealing alcohol worth £228.50 from Waitrose in Thatcham. Also admitted failing to comply with requirements of a supervision order following release from prison. Sentenced to prison for eight weeks due to previous record. Ordered to pay £122 compensation.

BABUYISIWE SENGWAYO, 54, of Southwood Gardens, Burghfield in Reading, admitted failing to comply with a roadside breath test in Reading on February 16. Also admitted a further charge of failing to provide a specimen for analysis on the same occasion. Given a community order to comply with rehabilitation activity and must undertake 60 hours unpaid work. Also ordered to pay £85 victim surcharge and £930 court costs. Disqualified from driving for 36 months.

JOSE RODRIGUES, 45, of no fixed abode, admitted stealing two irons and two boxes of washing tablets worth £44 from Wilkos in Reading on September 20, and admitted stealing 49 boxes of condoms worth £609.21 from Superdrug in Reading on September 7. Also admitted stealing five bottles of Whisky worth £128.50 from Sainsbury's in Reading on August 28, and admitted stealing two bottles of whisky and two bottles of milkshake worth £66.60 from Asda in Reading on September 1. Admitted stealing three bottles of alcohol worth £60 from Sainsbury's in Reading on September 4, and admitted stealing six bottles of alcohol worth £150 from Sainsbury's in Reading on September 4. Convicted of possessing a lock knife in a public place in Reading on September 20. Sentenced to prison for 40 weeks and ordered to pay £149 court costs.

BLESSED TACHIONA, 32, of Temple Place, Reading, convicted of possessing Class A drug cocaine at Loddon Valley Police Station on July 14. Fined £562.50 and ordered to pay £56 victim surcharge. Also ordered £620 court costs.

LEWIS DEARLOVE, 20, of Hatfield Court, Calcot, admitted failing to comply with supervision requirements following a release from prison, by not attending appointments on October 3, October 8, October 15, and October 23. Fined £130 and ordered to pay £60 court costs.

HANNAH HOWARD, 37, of Waterloo Rise, Reading, admitted failing to comply with requirements of a community order by not attending probation appointments on September 10, September 17, and October 2. Fined £80.

JONATHAN WARD, 20, of Virginia Way, Southcote in Reading, admitted failing to comply with requirements of a suspended sentence order by not attending unpaid work on July 24 and August 1. Fined £50 and ordered to pay £75 court costs.

KRISZTIAN BAKOS, 43, of Oxford Road, Reading, admitted failing to comply with requirements of a community order by not attending rehabilitation activity on March 6 and March 12. Also admitted failing to surrender to Reading Magistrates' Court having been released on bail in September 30. Convicted of original offence which was drink-drinking in Hardwick Road, Tilehurst in Reading, on December 19. Found to have 104mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath, the legal limit being 35mcg. Ordered to pay £75 court costs and given a new community order to comply with rehabilitation activity.

CLARENCE NEWELL, 73, of Princes Street, Reading, admitted speeding on the A329 Oxford Road in Purley, Reading, on October 1, 2018. Found to be speeding over 30mph. Fined £240 and ordered to pay £30 victim surcharge,plus £85 court costs. Four points added to driving licence.

ANDREW MITCHELL, 45, of The Nightingales, Newbury, admitted driving on The Park, Lambourn, on May 16, without the correct insurance or the correct licence. Given a conditional discharge for two months and ordered to pay £20 victim surcharge.

November 12:

DANIEL ALLEN, 36, of Wensley Road, Reading, admitted possessing a 3inch lock knife in Bath Road, Reading, on August 7. Also admitted possession of class B drug cannabis in Reading on August 7. Given a conditional discharge for 12 months and ordered to pay £21 victim surcharge.

SIDNEY DIGBY, 19, of Cherry Close, Newbury, admitted possessing of cannabis at Reading Railway Station on July 11. Given a conditional discharge for 12 months and ordered to pay £21 victim surcharge. Also ordered to pay £85 court costs.

ASIF FAROOQ, 43, of Kensington Road, Reading, admitted stealing a three pan set and toaster from British Heart Foundation in Reading on September 27. Given a conditional discharge for 12 months. Ordered to pay £21 victim surcharge and £85 court costs.

JAMIE THOMAS, 29, of Southampton Street, Reading, admitted failing to comply with a community protection notice by entering Reading town centre on August 30 after being banned. Fined £40 and ordered to pay £32 victim surcharge JACK MASON, 28, of Stirling Way, Thatcham, admitted drink-driving in Manor Road, Newbury, on July 6. Fined £250 and ordered to pay £32 victim surcharge. Also ordered to pay £200 court costs. Disqualified from driving for 20 months.

ROBERT BLACK, 51, of Parson Close, Newbury, convicted of punching a dog five times in the head in Newbury on May 3. Also admitted commission of a further offence while subject to a suspended sentence for five counts of theft. Sentenced to 23 weeks in prison as 'offence so serious because it was carried out while on licence on a defenceless dog'. Ordered to pay £115 victim surcharge and disqualified from keeping any animal for 10 years.
