The following cases were heard at Reading Magistrates’ Court:

October 31: 

MAWULI ACOLATSE, 50, of Highgrove Street, Reading, convicted of two charges of assault by beating in Reading on July 17. Given a community order to comply with rehabilitation activity and must undertake 200 hours unpaid work. Made subject of a restraining order and must pay £90 victim surcharge, plus £775 court costs.

DOMINIC BULLOCK, 24, of Martingale Chase, Newbury, admitted failing to comply with supervision requirements following release from prison by not attending office appointments on July 23, August 13, and August 27. Fined £80.

LAKISHA MALONEY, 21, of Linden Road, Reading, convicted of travelling on a train in Putney on February 19 without having a valid ticket to be in the area. Fined £60 and ordered to pay £16.30 compensation. Must also pay £30 victim surcharge plus £140 court costs.

LINDA OSHEA, 45, of Wykeham Road, Reading, convicted of using an online television receiver without a licence in Reading on March 22. Given a conditional discharge for six months and ordered to pay £20 victim surcharge, plus £120 court costs.

BENJAMIN DEAN, 27, of Boundary Place, Tadley, admitted drink-driving on the A4 in Padworth on August 18. Found to have 141mg of alcohol in 100ml blood, the legal limit being 80mg. Fined £350 and ordered to pay £35 victim surcharge, plus £85 court costs. Disqualified from driving with 22 months.

JOSHUA EATON, 22, of no fixed abode, admitted fraud by false representation on June 3 by attempting to use a bank card owned by someone else in The Liquor Store in Thatcham. Given a conditional discharge for six months, and ordered to pay £21 victim surcharge. 

SIMON ESSERY, 51, of Berkley Avenue, Reading, admitted assault by beating of a paramedic in Reading on October 3. Also admitted assault by beating of a police officer on the same day in Reading. Fined £120 and ordered to pay £450 compensation. Also ordered to pay £32 victim surcharge and £85 court costs.

DAVID SHUMBA, 59, of London Road, Reading, admitted drink-driving in Queens Road, Reading, on October 15. Found to 101mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath, the legal limit being 35mcg. Also admitted using a vehicle without the correct insurance in Queens Road, Reading, on October 15. Sentenced to eight weeks in prison suspended for 24 months as it was a third drink-driving offence and a very high reading. Must also comply with rehabilitation activity and undertake 80 hours unpaid work. Also ordered to pay £122 victim surcharge and £85 court costs. Disqualified from driving for 52 months.

AIDEN THOMPSON, 24, of London Road, Twyford, admitted being in possession of class B drug cannabis in Wokingham on May 17. Also admitted possession of class B drug amphetamine in Wokingham on May 17. Given a conditional discharge for six months and ordered to pay £20 victim surcharge, plus £85 court costs.

JAMIE ANDREWS, 46, of Brixham Road, Reading, admitted stealing £59 worth of alcohol from BP Filling Station in Reading on October 6. Fined £80 and ordered to pay £59 compensation. Also ordered to pay £32 victim surcharge and £85 court costs.

MICHAEL DANKS, 54, of Hearn Road, Woodley, admitted possession of an 18cm long Kukri style knife in public in Woodley on March 28. Sentenced to prison for eight weeks suspended for 12 months. Must take part in rehabilitation activity and ordered to pay £115 victim surcharge. Must also pay £40 court costs.

November 1:

AZIDEEN JADAE, 20, of no fixed abode, admitted assault by beating in Reading on October 30, and also admitted common assault of a police officer in Reading on October 30. Admitted assault by beating of police officer in Reading on October 31, and admitted a further charge of assault by beating on the same day in Reading of a police detention officer. Committed a further offence during the operational period of a suspended sentence, the original offence being convicted of threatening unlawful violence at Westminster Station, London, on August 27. Also originally convicted of assaulting a police officer at Westminster Police Station on October 8, and a further charge of assault by beating at the same station on October 8. Sentenced to 18 weeks in prison and ordered to pay £150 compensation.

JASON LAMBOURN, 32, of Drury Lane, Mortimer Common, convicted of aggravated vehicle taking in Burghfield on November 25, 2018. Given a community order to comply with rehabilitation activity and ordered to undertake 100 hours of unpaid work. Also ordered to pay £85 victim surcharge and £350 court costs. Disqualified from driving for 12 months.

KLAUS WLOKA, 52, of Oxford Road, Reading, convicted of common assault in Reading on August 3. Given a community order to comply with rehabilitation requirement. Also ordered to pay £100 compensation, and £250 court costs.

IZMIR SHEHI, 19, of Cockey Hill, Tilehurst, convicted of failing to stop a vehicle in Kenavon Drive, Reading, on December 13, 2018. Also convicted of driving in public without due care and attention in Kenavon Drive, Kings Road, and Gasworks Road, on December 13.Convicted of driving without the correct insurance in Kenavon Drive, Reading, on December 13, and without the correct licence on the same occasion. Fined £480 and ordered to pay £30 victim surcharge. Also ordered to pay £775 court costs. Disqualified from driving for six months.

LEE ABERY, 33, of Skyllings in Newbury, convicted of travelling on a Great Western Railway service in Newbury without having paid the £3.20 train fare. Fined £220 and ordered to pay £3.20 compensation. Must also pay £30 victim surcharge and £160 court costs.

BOGDAN-MARIAN ALISTAR, 20, of Battle Square, Reading, convicted of travelling on a Great Western Railway service in Reading on April 4 without having paid the £3.90 train fare. Fined £220 and ordered to pay £3.90 compensation. Must also pay £30 victim surcharge and £160 court cost.

JAMAINE BOSWELL, 39, of Woodman Court, Reading, convicted of travelling on a Great Western Railway service in Reading on March 19 without having paid the £6.70 train fare. Fined £220 and ordered to pay £6.70 compensation. Also ordered to pay £30 victim surcharge and £160 court costs.

DAREN DERWIN, 47, of Horne Road, Thatcham, convicted of travelling on a Great Western Railway service in Theale on April 2, without having paid the £5.60 train fare. Fined £220 and ordered to pay £5.60 compensation. Also ordered to pay £30 victim surcharge and £160 court costs.

PINKIE DITSHWENE, 47, of Walkers Place, Reading, convicted of travelling on a Great Western Railway service in Reading on April 11, without having paid the £8.60 train fare. Fined £220 and ordered to pay £8.60 compensation. Also ordered to pay £30 victim surcharge and £160 court costs.

MARIANNE GREY, 48, of Bodin Gardens, Newbury, convicted of travelling on a Great Western Railway service in Thatcham on April 5, without having paid the £6.90 train fare. Fined £220 and ordered to pay £6.90 compensation. Also ordered to pay £30 victim surcharge and £160 court costs.

KINGSLEY HAUGHTON, 43, of Barnsdale Road, Reading, convicted of failing to hand over your ticket when being in a designated compulsory ticket area on the railway in Reading on April 17. Fined £220 and ordered to pay £60.80 compensation. Also ordered to pay £30 victim surcharge and £160 court costs.

KHANA OWINO, 38, of Rodway Road, Reading, convicted of travelling on a Great Western Railway service in Reading on April 10, without pay the £33.70 train fare. Fined £220 and ordered to pay £33.70 compensation. Also ordered to pay £30 victim surcharge and £160 court costs.

HEATHER SHELDON, 58, of Ewing Way, Newbury, convicted of travelling on a Great Western Railway service in Theale on April 5, without paying the £8.10 train fare. Fined £220 and ordered to pay £8.10 compensation. Also ordered to pay the £30 victim surcharge and £160 court costs.

RICHARD WILLIAMS, 54, of St Johns Road, Mortimer Common, Reading, convicted of travelling on the Great Western Railway service in Reading on April 7, without having paid the £5.50 train fare. Fined £220 and ordered to pay the £5.50 compensation. Ordered to pay £30 victim surcharge and ordered to pay £160 court costs.

SIMON WILLIAMS, 34, of Bath Road, Reading, convicted of travelling on a Great Western Railway service in Slough on April 3, without having paid the £19.20 train fare. Fined £220 and ordered to pay £19.20 compensation. Also ordered to pay £30 victim surcharge and £160 court costs.

STAGED EVENTS LTD, of Whites Hill, Sulhamstead, convicted of using an unlicensed vehicle in Hart on April 12. Fined £220 and ordered to pay £63.34 vehicle excise back duty. Also ordered to pay £200 court costs.

November 4: 

PIOTR KUZMA, 34, of Brocas Road, Burghfield, admitted possession of class B drug cannabis in Reading on September 9 and admitted failing to surrender to custody at Reading Magistrates' Court on October 10. Fined £532 and ordered to pay £32 victim surcharge. Also ordered to pay £85 court costs.

KARL JAMES, 28, of Park Avenue, Thatcham, admitted assault by beating in Reading on September 15. Sentenced to eight weeks in prison as offence so serious 'because seemed to be acting as vigilante, disproportionate reaction' and previous offending. Also ordered to fund £122 victim surcharge.

KARLA CREED, 27, of Southend Road, Reading, admitted racially or religiously aggravated harassment or distress with words or writing in Newbury town centre on May 27. Given a community order to comply with rehabilitation activity and ordered to carry out 80 hours unpaid work. Also ordered to pay £85 victim surcharge, and £135 court costs.

JUSTIN FORDE, 37, of Ian Mikardo Way, Caversham, admitted failing to comply with requirements of a community order by failing to attend scheduled office appointments on August 6, and September 10. Community order to continue with rehabilitation activity and must pay £30 court costs.

WAHEED SHARIF, 38, of Anderson Avenue, Earley, admitted failing to comply with requirements of a community order by not attending unpaid work on September 18 and September 23. Fined £50 and ordered to pay £60 court costs.

LUKE SAMPSON, 26, of Clayton Walk in Whitley, admitted failing to comply with requirements of a community order by not attending rehabilitation activity appointments on August 22 and August 29. Given a community order to comply with rehabilitation activity. Also ordered to pay £75 court costs.

MATTHEW BALLIE, 39, of Sayers Close, Newbury, admitted failed to provide a specimen when suspected of being in charge of a vehicle in Newbury on November 4. Fined £70 and ordered to pay £30 victim surcharge.

November 5:

RYAMANO STAPLETON, 31, of Edinburgh Road, Reading, admitted criminal damage to the windscreen of a police car in Reading on March 18. Admitted using threatening or abusive words of behaviour with intent to cause fear or provoke unlawful violence in Reading on March 18. Also admitted criminal damage by destroying a window pane belonging to Launch Pad in Reading on March 18. Given a community order to comply with rehabilitation activity and must pay £400 compensation. Also ordered to pay £90 victim surcharge and £85 court costs.

MICHAEL GIBSON, 39, of Turners Drive, Thatcham, admitted stealing £272.48 worth of groceries from Sainsbury's on Bath Road, Reading, on October 11. Given a conditional discharge for 12 months and ordered to pay £21 victim surcharge, plus £85 court costs.

ANDREW VASS, 55, of Fleming Road, Newbury, convicted of using a mobile phone while driving in Thatcham on January 9, 2019. Fined £220 and ordered to pay £30 victim surcharge, plus £640 court costs. Six points added to driving licence. 

CHRISSIE OVERTON, 45, of Beecwood Avenue, Woodley, admitted stealing £30 of alcohol from Marks and Spencer in Reading on January 26, 2019. Given a conditional discharge for six months. Also ordered to pay £20 victim surcharge.

ALEXANDRU ZAMFIR, 31, of Northumberland Avenue, Reading, admitted assault by beating in Reading on October 2. Also admitted racially or religiously aggravated harassment or distress in words or writing in Reading on October 12. Sentenced to five months in prison as it was 'an unprovoked attack of a serious nature'. Made subject to a restraining order and must pay £500 compensation. Fined £200.
