LACE up your running shoes to get ready for this year's Woodley 10k run.

The run is set to take place on Woodford Park, Headley Road, Woodley, on April 9 and begins at 9 am.

The course is described as "A fast, flat, personal best potential road race around the streets of Woodley," with over 100 runners already signed-up to take part.

A spokesman for Barnes Fitness, organising the event, said: "This year's event will be run in dear memory of David Stares, former Woodley Town Council councillor, honorary Reading Roadrunner and huge supporter of this event.

"We will be supporting the fabulous work of the Mayor of Woodley Town Council's Charity, Prostate Cancer UK."

The event organisers supplies everyone taking part with a pacemaker every five minutes, chip-timed results, free event photos and many other perks.
