The submission of the application follows the public consultation in June, where feedback by attendees expressed over whelming support for the £750million regeneration proposal.

The proposals for the northern part of the Station Hill development, closest to Reading Train Station, will go on display at the public information event, which will take place between 4pm and 8pm on Friday, January 31 and 10am - 1pm on Saturday, February 1, in The Biscuit Tin, 40 Station Hill, Reading.

Everyone is invited to view the proposals and discuss the plans with members of the project team.

Construction is set to begin on the phase 1 part of the site in the spring.

This will see 538 new homes available for rent with ground floor retail, cafes and restaurant units.

Once complete, Station Hill will provide more than 1,000 new homes; 600,000sqft of office accommodation for up to 8,000 employees; 100,000sqft of commercial space for retail; cafés and restaurants; a new pedestrian link between the station and the town centre; a landscaped pocket park and public square to host community events.

Alex Aitchison, director of development at Lincoln Property Company UK, said: "The submission of this brand new planning application for the north site (Phase Two), is yet another deliverable milestone in bringing forward all the aspirations of stakeholders and the wider community for Station Hill.

"The proposal will deliver the new gateway to Reading that the town deserves, whilst ensuring a best in class regeneration to anchor Reading as the Capital of the South East for generations to come."
