A MAN remains in hospital after being struck by a car and assaulted by a group in Reading.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which took place in Oxford Road, close to Belmont Road.

At around 2.30am on Sunday, January 12, the man - who is in his thirties - was walking along Oxford Road when he was hit by the car.

Two men and a girl on a bicycle then assaulted the victim, who sustained 'serious' injuries to his leg and injuries to his face.

He was taken to hospital for treatment, where he remains.

Investigating officer, detective constable Amy Rogers, based at Reading police station, said: "I am appealing for any witness to this incident that has left a man with serious leg injuries.

"I would also urge any drivers who were in the local area around the time of the incident to check any dash-cam footage in case it may have captured something that could assist the investigation.
