POLICE are warning drivers to be careful while out on the roads today due to heavy rainfall causing flooding.

The force has reported a high number of calls coming in about issues with heavy flooding, with some areas up to 1ft of water.

Areas that seem to be particularly affected are West Berkshire and parts of Bracknell.

WEST BERKSHIRE:

Ginge Brook

Property flooding is not currently expected. River levels are high on the Ginge Brook as a result of heavy rainfall. Therefore, flooding of low lying roads, footpaths and land is possible.

Groundwater flooding in the Salisbury Plain area

 Following prolonged periods of heavy rain, groundwater levels have continued to respond. Levels are high and further rainfall is expected over the next few days and we would expect to see levels rise in response.

Lower River Loddon

Property flooding is not currently expected. River levels remain high on the Lower River Loddon as a result of persistent heavy rainfall. Therefore, flooding of roads and farmland is expected to continue today.

River Kennet and its tributaries from Berwick Bassett down to Newbury

Property flooding is not currently expected. River levels are high and responsive to further rainfall on the River Kennet. Therefore, flooding of low-lying land, footpaths and roads is expected to continue close to the river, especially in the Knighton area.

River Kennet from Thatcham down to Reading

Property flooding is not currently expected. River levels have risen in response to further rainfall overnight on the River Kennet in the Theale area. Therefore, the risk of flooding of low lying land and footpaths is possible.

River Ock from Watchfield to Abingdon, and also the Letcombe Brook at Wantage, Grove and East Hanney

Property flooding is not currently expected. River levels have responded to recent rainfall and are high and responsive to further rainfall on the River Ock and Letcombe Brook. Therefore, the risk of flooding of low lying land, roads and footpaths continues.

River Pang from East Ilsley to Pangbourne and Sulham Brook

Property flooding is not currently expected. River levels remain high and responsive to further rainfall on the River Pang and Sulham Brook in response to recent rainfall.

River Thames and its tributaries from Days Lock to above Pangbourne

Property flooding is not currently expected. River levels are high but steady on the River Thames. Therefore, flooding of low-lying land, footpaths and roads is expected to continue, especially in the Benson and Goring areas.

River Thames from Mapledurham to Sonning

Property flooding is not currently expected. River levels are high but steady on the River Thames. Therefore, flooding of low-lying land, footpaths and roads is expected to continue, especially in the Caversham area. 

River Thames from Pangbourne to Purley

Property flooding is not currently expected. River levels are high but steady on the River Thames. Therefore, flooding of low-lying land, footpaths and roads is expected to continue, especially in the Whitchurch area. 

BRACKNELL:

Emm Brook

Property flooding is not currently expected. River levels are rising on the Emm Brook following the recent heavy rainfall. Therefore, flooding of roads and farmland is expected to continue today.

Lower River Loddon

Property flooding is not currently expected. River levels remain high on the Lower River Loddon as a result of persistent heavy rainfall. Therefore, flooding of roads and farmland is expected to continue today.

WOKINGHAM: 

Emm Brook

Property flooding is not currently expected. River levels are rising on the Emm Brook following the recent heavy rainfall. Therefore, flooding of roads and farmland is expected to continue today.

Lower River Loddon

Property flooding is not currently expected. River levels remain high on the Lower River Loddon as a result of persistent heavy rainfall.

Therefore, flooding of roads and farmland is expected to continue today.

Persistent and at times heavy rainfall is expected to continue this morning, and further showers are forecast this afternoon and overnight with the potential to be heavy at times. 

Lower River Loddon at the River Thames confluence at Twyford

Property flooding is not currently expected. River levels remain high and out of banks on the Lower River Loddon at Twyford as a result of persistent heavy rainfall. Therefore, flooding of roads and farmland is expected to continue today.

River Blackwater and The Cove Brook

Property flooding is not currently expected. River levels are high on the on the River Blackwater and The Cove Brook as a result of persistent heavy rainfall.

Therefore, flooding of roads and farmland is expected to continue today.

Persistent and at times heavy rainfall is expected to continue this morning, and further showers are forecast this afternoon and overnight with the potential to be heavy at times. 

River Kennet from Thatcham down to Reading

Property flooding is not currently expected. River levels remain high on the River Thames in the Henley, Renmenham, Medmenham and its tributaries area, follwing recent heavy rainfall. Therefore, flooding of low lying roads and farmland is expected to continue today.

River Thames for Shiplake, Lower Shiplake and Wargrave

Property flooding is not currently expected. River levels remain high on the River Thames in the Shiplake and Wargrave area as a result of persistent heavy rainfall. Therefore, flooding of low lying roads and farmland is expected to continue today. 

River Thames from Hurley to Cookham

Property flooding is not currently expected. River levels remain high on the River Thames from Hurley to Cookham as a result of persistent heavy rainfall. Therefore, flooding of low lying roads and farmland is expected to continue today, 20/12/19. 

River Thames from Mapledurham to Sonning

Property flooding is not currently expected. River levels are high but steady on the River Thames. Therefore, flooding of low-lying land, footpaths and roads is expected to continue, especially in the Caversham area. We are expecting persistent and at times heavy rainfall to continue.
