The charity paid a visit to the developer's headquarters in Baughurst to collect the presents from Laura Layton, PA to managing director Andrew Brooks.

Bewley Homes Sales and marketing director Elaine Stratford said: "Christmas is the season of giving, so we're really grateful to our colleagues for showing their support to our toy drive.

"They have donated so many fantastic goodies for kids who might otherwise be empty-handed at Christmas.

"Just imagining the smiles on their faces is a present in itself for us - we're sure it will be quite a magic moment.

"Thank you to the Salvation Army for accepting these donations and getting them to the kids who are in need of them in time for Christmas Day.

"Donations like this are very important; of course, all children should be equal. We’re finding that more and more people are dependent on our help, because they have nothing to give to their children at Christmas. Lots of people find it very difficult when they have to get in touch with us, but they’re often in need through no fault of their own.”

Over the years, millions of children across the country have received toys through the Salvation Army’s annual Christmas Present Appeal.

Founded in 1991, Bewley Homes currently has sites across Berkshire, Gloucestershire, Hampshire, Oxfordshire and Surrey. The developer was recently named in the Sunday Times’ Top Track 250 league table of private mid-market growth companies with the biggest sales. For more information, visit www.bewley.co.uk.
