READING'S homelessness charity held their Carols by Candelight service last week (December 5) marking the start of the festive period.
The service, hosted by Launchpad, saw roughly 750 people join together at Reading Minster to enjoy some carol singing.

There were performances from The Blue Coat School Junior Choir, mezzo-soprano, Harriet Kirk and Reading Bach Choir.
X Factor finalist, Danyl Johnson, also attended and performed O Come, All Ye Faithful with the Reading Bach Choir and Reading Blue Coat Junior Choir.

There were also readings from various speakers including Reverend Judith Sumner.
The charities fundraising officer, Katy, explained the event usually raises £8,000 on average and thanked everybody for their support.
There will be various choirs performing at Reading Station in aid of Launchpad on December 17, 18 and 19 during rush hour to round off Christmas.
