RESIDENTS who have gone the extra mile in Bracknell could be in with a chance of winning £500.

Care UK's Bickerton House in Warfield Road is on the hunt for volunteers or organisations who have gone "above and beyond" in making a positive impact in the community.

The care home is asking people to nominate their local hero who deserve to win a cash prize of up to £500.

The winner of the competition with receive the money and be invited to the opening of the new care home at its grand launch next year in April.

Erika Smith, home manager at Bickerton House, said: “We all know that one person who organises everything, is always there for others and never shies away from offering a helping hand – so here at Bickerton House we want to say thank you.

"Whether they are a volunteer at a local charity, a community group that really makes a difference to the area, or simply someone who goes that extra mile for others – share your story with us so we can reward them with the treat they deserve.”

There will also be two runners up in competition, with a £200 cash prize for second place and £100 for third.
