FOOTBALLERS have been praised after reportedly helping a man when they feared for his safety.

A tweet has applauded the efforts of two Bracknell Town FC Isthmian U18 squad members who reportedly stopped to help a man in distress at Reading West Train Station on Wednesday night (November 27).

The tweet claims there was a fear for welfare incident and two football players stopped to help the person involved.

The pair were on route to a training session in the evening when it happened as they spotted the man in need of help.

The tweet does not go into details of the pair's actions, but added: "I hope the guy gets all the help he needs."

Police have confirmed that there was a fear for welfare incident at Reading West Railway Station.

A police spokesman said: "At 6.27pm on November 27, officers were called to Reading West station following the concern for the welfare of a man.

"Officers attended and a man was taken to a place of safety.”
