AN early Christmas present for music fans has come in the form of the first headliner being announced for Reading Festival.
The official Twitter account for Reading and Leeds Festival made the announcement today.
It revealed Liam Gallagher as the first act to be announced as headliner.
On the festival website it said: "The former Oasis frontman will be blessing your ears with songs from his two solo albums, ‘As You Were’ and ‘Why Me? Why Not.’ while also throwing in a host of Oasis classics for good measure."
The star also tweeted his excitement about the booking earlier in the day.
He is among several headline acts expected to be announced before the big event from Friday, August 28, to Sunday, August 30.
