The two offenders forced entry into the home in Woodwaye with a crowbar and what police believed to be a firearm.
A spokesman from Thames Valley Police said: "There are no further updates, except the investigation is progressing, including obtaining and reviewing CCTV."
The men left the scene on foot without taking anything and ran in the direction of Lytham Road.

Both offenders are described as black men, wearing dark clothing and high visibility vests.
Police are appealing for witnesses, and said: "This incident happened in a public area, and at a time where I believe it’s likely that someone will have seen something.
"I would also appeal to anyone who recognises the physical description of these offenders. They may have been seen by anyone in the Lytham Road area as they made off on foot.
