FESTIVE treats, gifts and delicious food is what you'll expect to find at the Christmas markets this winter.

The Christmas markets officially kicked off festivities at The Lexicon on November 15 by the Mayor of the borough of Bracknell Forest, Cllr Pauline McKenzie.

Thirteen hand crafted wooden chalets have been set up in the town centre on Bull Square and will be available until December 29 with unique and handmade gifts, food and drinks.

Hungry shoppers can enjoy a Yorkshire pudding wrap filled with all the roast dinner trimmings, traditional German bratwurst, churros and hot gooey doughnuts.

Rob Morris, general manager at The Lexicon, said: " We are delighted to welcome the Christmas market back to The Lexicon. It proved highly popular with visitors last year and I’m sure this year will be no exception.”

There is also a pop-up bar serving beers and local areas from Berkshire.

Stocking filler presents are perfect to purchase from the Christmas market, with festive cheese, chocolate kisses and speciality gins and wines.

Mayor of the borough of Bracknell Forest, Pauline McKenzie said: "It gave me great pleasure to officially open the market.

"I’m looking forward to visiting the stalls and enjoying all the festive fayre on offer.”

With all this in mind, there is one more thing to look forward to - the official Christmas lights switch-on!

The Christmas lights will officially be turned on on Sunday, November 24 and the day starts at 12pm until 7pm.

Rak-Su will be taking to the stage to headline the show and bring an upbeat performance for the festive celebrations.

As well as this, Britain's Got Talent 2016 finalists Boogie Storm will get shoppers dancing with their 'dazzling' storm trooper dance routines.

At 3pm, Lapland Uk's favourite elves, including Wish, Elva and Scribble will lead the crowds to turn on the lights at the 10 metre tall Christmas Tree in Union Square.
